The DBA-Devolopper Relationship
In this part of the chapter he roughly describes DBA and the devolopper
He sets important properties of DBA,System Administrator (SA) and devoloper
and give some key points about who should know what.
But the General Idea is this: "The most successful information
systems are
based on a symbiotic relationship between the DBA and the application
developer."
So we should underline the word symbiotic relationship and emphasize on it.
As it is stated in the other chapters Devolopper should have to have cursory
knowledge about what is provided and should know How the application
run inside the database!
BUT! A devolopper do not need to know installing , configuring the software,
tuning the database,and running it. These are in the DBA's responsibility.
Devolopper should understand how redo and rollback works.(For database step)
They are generally doing different parts of the puzzle but they have sometimes
common points. At the intersection they have to understand each other For
understanding each other, DBA should be little devolopper and devolopper should
be
little DBA.
